It’s nice to see that some daringly came to write somthing about php and google maps
Nice to see a timely book on a hot subject. How about posting the TOC?
The Table of Contents is under “our Book” on the main menu. You can also read the back-cover letter, the foreword by Mike Pegg of Google Maps Mania, our bios and any errata we’ve found so far (not much!).
Enjoy.
Hi Just got my copy today via Amazon.co.uk. Very nice work particularly improving the user interface and Optimizing/Scaling large data sets. I’d never thought about treating large data sets as overlays.
Two things
1. Apress haven’t added your book to their $10 promo dropdown yet. I’ve emailed their support.
2. You might find http://earth-info.nga.mil/gns/html/ of interest. Raw data!

Glad you’re enjoying the book, David. Jeff was largely responsible for the overlay material (see this demo), but I’ve really become intrigued by it in the last few months; you’ll see some cool map-overlay stuff on the blog in the coming weeks.
And thanks for the GNS link—that looks like some cool stuff. (Oh, and if you’re feeling magnanimous, you could always leave us a review at Amazon…)
