We plan to do a lot more with this page than provide some links, but we’re still working on the tools so for the time being here is the list of geocoders we’ve tried:

For the first four links you can find working examples of how to use them as well as their benefits and drawbacks in our book.
We also have a list of reverse geocoding tools we’ve seen:
- Reverse Geocoder for the USA (by John Coryat)
- Reverse Geocoder for Canada (by Geocoder.ca)
- Reverse Geocoding for parts of the rest of the world (by Geonames.org)
Shortly we’ll be releasing some really neat comparison tools that will help you determine which geocoder best suits your application and target country.
